MENTORING
I am passionate about empowering young people to reach their full potential. Through my mentoring programme, I provide guidance, support and inspiration to help young people – especially those who are disadvantaged – navigate their personal and professional journeys. From developing soft skills to building confidence and preparing for employment, I believe that the tools and support provided by my mentoring can have a significant impact on the
life skills and ability to thrive of the young people I work with.
Mentoring outcomes
Personalised mentoring
Added to which, I often appear on a variety of programmes as a panel guest or ‘presenter’s friend’ – an expert interviewee the presenter can turn to for clarification, analysis or information about an issue.
Skill development
My mentoring sessions emphasise essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving. I also work on boosting self esteem and confidence, ensuring that young people feel equipped to tackle challenges head-on.
Career readiness
I help students prepare for the workforce by offering insights into various career paths and providing practical advice on job applications, interviews and networking. My aim is to ensure they are ready to make their mark in the professional world.
Inspiration workshops
In addition to one-on-one mentoring, I conduct workshops that inspire and motivate young people. These sessions cover a range of topics, from goal setting to leadership, encouraging participants to think big and pursue their dreams.
Mentoring new foster parents
I also offer mentoring to new foster parents, drawing on the rich and revealing experiences I have gained throughout my long journey as foster parent. With a practical understanding of the challenges and joys that come with fostering, I aim to equip parents with essential skills and tools to thrive. Through personalised guidance and practical strategies, I am committed to helping foster parents build strong, nurturing relationships with their foster children, promoting a supportive environment where everyone can flourish.
Can I help you on your journey?
If you are a young person looking for guidance, or a parent or educator interested in connecting students with a mentor, I am here to help. Together, we can make a positive difference, helping the next generation to succeed.
