Background
Celebrity Hunted: Stand Up to Cancer and Hunted are reality thriller series produced by Shine TV for Channel 4, where celebrities and members of the public play ‘fugitives’ attempting to evade capture by ex-police and military tracking teams for a chance to win a £100,000 prize. I participated as a “ground hunter” in every series, utilising my skills as a hostage and crisis negotiator, advanced driver, surveillance and my training in kidnap and extortion to effectively seize and apprehend fugitives.
A Thrilling Pursuit: Tracking Down Fugitives
My prior experience as a senior officer in the Metropolitan Police positioned me well for this role in the series. One of my favourite moments was capturing TV’s Made In Chelsea stars Spencer Matthews and Jamie Laing, who were both remove self-aware and fully immersed engaged in the spirit of the show.
Reflections
An added bonus of participating in this series was its connection to Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer campaign, which holds deep personal significance for me. Having lost my wife to pancreatic cancer, I have navigated the complexities of grief and trauma. I now feel privileged to help others facing similar circumstances, offering support and understanding during their challenging journeys.
